What does it mean to tune with a=432hz?
Instead of using the standard reference pitch of A=440Hz, you tune your instrument using A=432Hz. Most modern tuning devices can be re-calibrated to a different reference, so retuning guitars or other string instruments is easy. Harmonica is different, as each reed is tuned at the factory to the desired pitch. I offer new harmonicas retuned for use with instruments tuned with A=432Hz.
why tune to a=432hz?
An excellent question. There are many discussions and articles about this very subject if you simply Google "A=432." Personally, I think it just plain sounds better - less unpleasant treble and more harmonically rich overall. It's much easier for me to sing, too, and it's not just that the pitch is lower - I feel less strained on certain intervals and I seem to be more on pitch. I actually like listening to myself sing in 432!
